“How do you plan the perfect party? Where does one start?” These are common questions I get asked since I have started my party planning business. Below, I will give some pointers on how to start planning your celebration.
Choose your Audience: Decide what kind of party you want to have. Is it going to be for family only, a children’s party, or a party for everyone.
Budget: A budget will determines what kind of party you will have (example, how many people, venue, decorations etc.)
Venue: Where will your party be held, at home or at a venue? That is a question one should consider because, that will determine the amount of people you wish to invite, as well the number space a person will be able to work worth. Choose a theme with your child is always a fun and creative way to plan a party. I have listed a few party themed ideas that will work with any age group.
- Star Wars
- Fancy Nancy
- Circus
- Zoo
- Super Heroes
- Pirates
- Princess
- Legos
- Sunflowers
- Baseball
- Soccer
Invitations: Choose between home made, store bought or electronic.
Goodie Bags/Party favors: Always a plus. Every child loves a treat. I have suggestions for possible favor ideas.
- Bubbles
- Play dough
- Lip gloss
- Coloring books
- Hair bands
- Lego kits
Crafts: Most people choose a craft that goes along with the party theme. If you buy a project, make sure it is age appropriate. A child’s attention span is very short. So, think quick and easy. You can always Google a project that goes along with your theme.
Food: Always choose finger food. At a party it is usually all about friends, and fun, so have food that is easy and fun for children to eat. Remember that you have to consider those children with allergies as well.
Decorations: Can be as simple or elaborate as you want them to be. They can also be personalized and coordinating with your theme. Hire entertainment, it will always be a big success, especially with children.
These are just a few important things to consider when planning a party or event. In the future blogs, I will be discussing each bullet point in depth. So, come back for more great party tips!
